Of all of the drills used throughout a season, the Perfect Stop is one that easily translates to any defensive game plan. The drill is designed for players to guard for an entire possession (30 seconds) and allows them to have time taken off the clock for diving for loose balls or taking a charge. However, if the offense scores, the clock resets and the defensive team must stay our until the complete a perfect stop. This drill allows coaches to implement actions from opponents offense and forces players to over exaggerate their help since it is 4-on-4.
