(PDF Format) The Madcap Sketchbook, Vol. 1: The Psych Ward Sketches

In January of 2014 I spent two weeks in the mental health ward of a hospital. I was given a pen and a composition notebook to journal about how I was feeling. Instead, I found myself drawing, and I liked what came out. I played with shapes and bent forms, and with only an ink pen I couldn’t dwell on making anything too refined or polished. Some of the sketches seemed to reflect the fragile mental state I was in at the time, and I thought it was worth doing something with them. Two years later, I finally followed through on that idea.
