"Facing Civil Rights" is a work-in-progress documentary film produced/directed by R. Harvey Bravman. Bravman also produced/directed "Soul Witness, Brookline Holocaust Witness Project". "Facing Civil Rights" is based on interviews with six Brookline residents who describe their experiences during the Civil Rights Movement and what it was like for African-Americans to move to a segregated Brookline, Massachusetts during the 1960s. Also interviewed, Michael Dukakis paints an unvarnished picture of Brookline’s racial/religious climate during this turbulent period.

"Facing Civil Rights" first screened as part of Brookline's 2019 MLK Day Celebration at the Coolidge Corner Theatre. In January, 2020, the film sold out the Coolidge and included a panel discussion on the state of inclusivity today moderated by Paris Alston, producer of WBUR's Radio Boston.

"Facing Civil Rights" is currently available only for consumer screenings in homes and on devices. Contact info@soulwitness.org for Public Performance Rights (PPR) for public, educational, group screenings etc.
