The Wellerman Solo

Who would ever have thought a sea shanty could become such a hit around the world?? 'Soon May the Wellerman Come' is a sea shanty from New Zealand and is arranged here for harp solo.

The Wellerman refers to the nickname the whalers gave the men from Weller shipping company who dropped off their supplies while at sea.

This arrangement has something of a ragtime, dixie swing to it - all quavers are swung, and at its slowest its a nice lilting tune, but when you get your fingers around some of the trickier parts it can be a rousing tune! Enjoy!
