Fear and Desire: The roots of Stanley Kubrick. 55 min film analysis video exploring Kubrick's very first feature. This video is significantly different to my other Kubrick analysis'. While F&D contains unspoken themes (some of which were reworked later in Kubrick's filmography), the film also contains many technical and artistic flaws typical of the first time film maker. This video explores Kubrick's baby steps on his path to film making genius and the beginnings of his "hidden message" brand of film making. Includes plot synopsis for those who haven't seen the film.
