PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS THE DIGITAL VERSION OF KNITTING GANSEYS WITH BETH BROWN-REINSEL, THE DVD.  IF YOU PREFER THE HARD COPY DVD, YOU CAN PURCHASE THAT THROUGH MY WEBSITE (www.KnittingTraditions.com/product-books-dvds).

The British Ganseys evolved from undergarments around the turn of the 19th Century. Because fishermen wore them, the style traveled to Scotland and the Netherlands along with the fish who swam the North Sea. The fluidity of the Gansey style is apparent in the individuality of each garment made, while all were created within a certain architectural framework.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

This workshop covers the history, construction, and designing process of these seamless fishermen’s sweaters from the British Isles and provides step-by-step instruction and demonstration on a sampler sweater.

Beth will take you through all the construction techniques you need: the classic Channel Island Cast-on, split overlapped welts, seam stitches, initials, traditional motifs, underarm gussets, the perpendicular shoulder join, neck gussets and more!

A beautiful Gansey pattern is included for download when you purchase the workshop but Beth also teaches the principles of designing your own Gansey.

Included with your purchase:

- approximately 97 minutes of video content, broken into chapters to make it easier to find what you need.

- PDF files including a doll-sized Gansey (for instructional purposes), a full-sized Gansey patterns, a design worksheets, and charts to adapt to any Gansey pattern
