This Max for Live device allows you to use MIDI notes to send pitch bend to your MIDI instruments. It's part of the Bend Series, which is a series of devices meant to be linked together to allow you to modulate pitch bend in a variety of ways, similar to how you modulate CV in the modular world. (Full pack available here: https://gum.co/vYasM )

To set it up, put it on a MIDI track with no instrument or audio effects attached and then send that output MIDI into another MIDI track with a virtual instrument on it. This way you can separate the notes that are modulating the pitch bend from the notes that are actually sent to your synth.

Next, set the bend width on the device to the same width as your MIDI instrument's pitch bend width. For maximum range, set your instrument's pitch bend width to it's highest setting.

Set the root to the note you want, and the notes within range will send tuned bend signals to the other track.

The device has a latch feature which, when on, holds the notes after you let go. When off, the pitch bend is snapped back to center. It also has monophonic retriggering that you can turn on and off.

This device uses the xbend objects, which give you 2 byte pitch bend for very fine tuned bending.
