Li’l Stories in the classroom: Teacher's Guide

Li’l Stories is a language arts framework for elementary school children that nurtures creative thinking and cooperative learning. We use storytelling as a platform for learning across multiple content areas. Our child-centered approach puts students in the driver seat: they have fun, collaborate, and learn to express themselves through visual, spoken, and written storytelling. Li’l Stories successfully teaches language skills, reinforces classroom topics and engages multiple intelligences.

Li’l Stories is easy to integrate into existing curriculum units. It includes four areas of instruction (a) story creation (b) collaboration, (c) oral presentation, and (d) digital capture. Li’l Stories provides teachers with a flexible process for meeting language goals that can result in written narratives, puppet shows, Reader’s Theater, and stop motion animations.
