Digital Photo Realism Exercise: Portrait (FULLY NARRATED)

Narrated videos showing my process for doing digital photo real portraits as an exercise. I am new at attempting to share some form of tutorial, so I cannot make any guarantees on results. This collection of clips is more of an attempt to explain what I am seeing/thinking as I create an image like this. Different artists of different calibers will be able to pick apart my technique and gain various degrees of info.

There are 2 versions on here… I did it twice. The first time, the audio on the screen recording software was all messed up.

So I switched to a different recording software. And although the audio came out good, sometimes you could not see my cursor

When I would use a small brush on fine details. So I included them both. Besides that, I struggled through a couple of things on the first one. (Like the fur collar on the coat. Wasn’t sure how to do that at first. Watch me struggle though it.) This is purely an exercise that I do for practice between real art pieces. I find it to be very valuable in conditioning an artists mind.

Also included are original real time video clips from one of my photo real youtube videos from several years ago. These clips are silent, but I think they will still provide a lot of useful info. Those clips are called “Tanj”.

(The “Alt” videos are the silent version of the main exercise.)
