Field Notes - Painting Business

The Field Notes are the most significant work published to date. The 40 notes collectively serve as the core business strategy behind everything I’ve published in the last 25 years. When implemented as a whole strategy, these notes structure a new way of doing business and how we get new business. The traditional ways of doing business and getting business are far too problematic.

If you’re new to the painting business, you’ve got your work cut out to establish a reputation for being significant in your market. Maybe you’re already established in your market. If so, you know the importance of maintaining your position in the market. No sooner we become comfortable, some new painting business comes along and steals our existing clients. We need to make sure that doesn’t happen.
