Carving a Traditional Fan
This lesson shows how to carve a traditional fan. This is carved into a flat basswood board and shows how to cleanly define the individual fan segments and also the decorative details along the outside edge. This lesson is basic enough for beginners to carve, but has some helpful tips and tricks that can be beneficial for experienced carvers. Minimal tools are used in this traditional design.
