Keynote Presentation: Curiosity and The Hero's Journey

This keynote presentation will share one teacher's journey from Pseudoteaching, into a world of deep reflective practice, and obsession with sparking student curiosity. Using examples from the classroom, research, literature and film, this presentation will explore curiosity as an omnipresent motivational force in our world and offer tangible strategies for leveraging curiosity to spark interest and engagement in any subject. This keynote will conclude by arguing that Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey provides a strong lesson planning framework for any discipline with curiosity being a powerful strategy for calling our students to adventure!
