In the not-too-distant future, displays are captured on glasses and contacts. Implants allow people to control their pocket computers through thought. Memories are stored and can be reviewed. Up until now, though, no one has been able to modify them.

Lorelai broke that code, but after the events in Volume 1 found her own memories completely wiped. Volume 2 picks up eight months after these events, and looks deeper into the lives of the agents working on memory alteration as well as Lorelai's current state and whereabouts.
