PURPOSE:
There’s a difference between wisdom and intelligence.

LOCATION:
“The Bible Know-It-All Show”

PROPS:
A Bible

CHARACTERS:
Dr. Knowitall: a brilliant biblical scholar, dressed in a suit, nerdy glasses
Host: Upbeat and bouncy
Audience Members 1 & 2: ask the tough questions
Child: asks the toughest question

PRODUCTION NOTE:
The Host should know where our actors are sitting.  People from the audience may be tempted to ask some questions.  Play Dr. Knowitall as a little smug and erudite.  If you want to add a little music at the beginning and end of the show, it will give it that “talk show” feel.

THOUGHTS:
I would hate to have been Job.  Not just the whole suffering thing, but the humiliation of God showing up and making him feel stupid.  In Job 38, God steps and says, “Who do you think you are?  Smarter than me?”

We think we’re smarter than that guy on Jeopardy, but facts and figures do nothing for us.  Many of us are Bible Smart, yet Life Dumb.

1 Corinthians 13:2 “If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.”

Love brings maturity and depth to gifts of knowledge and prophecy.  Without love, we’re just arrogant.

Proverbs 2:1-6 tells us wisdom is different than intelligence.  Wisdom is hearing God’s commands, accepting them, following them, and receiving understanding.  It begins with that love relationship with God.

THEMES:
GOD'S OMNISCIENCE, WISDOM, SELFISHNESS, HUMILITY, HUMBLE.
