THOUGHTS
Romans 6:1 – “What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace might increase?” Interesting rationale Paul was battling. People actually thought that by sinning they were giving God more power and freedom to work. The concept of grace they certainly grasped, but abused it for their own desires.
Grace still stuns us. Unmerited favor. Undeserved kindness. Unconditional love. Why would God be so full of grace? Whatever the answer, we should just appreciate that he is, for without it, we are dead. If God didn’t extend his hand, we would drown.
Our response to grace is not doing whatever we want and expect forgiveness, but to return that love with more love. Grace is foreign to this world, but central to the world beyond.
THEMES
GRACE, FORGIVENESS, SIN.
