August Conversation: From Purification to Compassion with Linda Sarsour and Denison Witmer
In the Purification Story, the fourth of the six “shadow” stories in our New Story Journey, our world is often divided into “us” and “them”, and it’s easy to blame “them” for what goes wrong for “us”. Such scapegoating has an ancient history, and can lead to violence. The line between good and evil runs through each of us, not between one person and another; and yet we must find a vision to overcome the harm done by systems, communities, and individuals whose beliefs and actions enshrine the idea that some lives are worth more than others.
