THOUGHTS:
You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions. In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ” Acts 20:34-35

The Bible really does say it’s more blessed to give than receive.  In fact, it came from the pen of Paul (who quotes Jesus some where not found in Scripture).
But is it really?  We really do like to receive.  Is the feeling from the same when we give?  Well, it should be.
Receiving is very selfish.  Giving is not.  Receiving thinks about your own needs.  Giving thinks of others.  God gives far more than he receives.  We give about as much as we receive, if not less.
Churches shouldn’t have to threaten us to give towards projects it feels God has placed on their heart.  We aren’t being robbed, but given an opportunity to be blessed as our giving goes to help others.
What an opportunity to surrender yourself without a gun in your ribs.
