Experience the joy and well-being of coloring mandalas.

I created the eight (8) original symmetry mandalas in this 11" x 8.5" PDF Mandala Coloring eBook with an Egyptian theme, each mandala comes with its own unique, inspirational message.

THE DESIGNS

  • I used the Egyptian hieroglyphic for papyrus for "Alpha Centauri."
  • The Egyptian Eye of Horus decorates the center of "Amun Re."
  • I used a very iconic Egyptian hieroglyphic, the Ankh symbol as the basis for the "Council of Twelve" mandala.
  • King Tut's falcon amulet gave me the inspiration for "Falcon."
  • When we visited Hathor's temple in Dendara, I noticed a sun with rays emanating from it which inspired "Re."
  • "Resurrection" came about from seeing another King Tut amulet depicting the scarab being carried off in a Pharaoh's boat to the afterlife.
  • For "Scarab" I used several Egyptian hieroglyphic symbols: scarab, papyrus, and the god Thoth.
  • With "Tut" I happened to notice the top of an alabaster box at a King Tut exhibit. It contained row after row of patterns. I used the patterns and repeated them around in a circle, thus creating the intricate "Tut" mandala.

THE PROCESS

I create my own mandala designs by first hand sketching them with pencil and paper, then using a graphics tablet and stylus, I draw the mandala into the computer. I then convert the digital images into a PDF document.

MY STORY

I began creating mandalas in early 1999 after a 10-day trip to Egypt. Through much of that region of the world patterns and symbols decorated just about every structure I visited, whether ancient, old or new. My analytical mind loved the geometry of the Islamic art and the Egyptian hieroglyphics. My heart and soul loved their elegant and symbolic beauty.

When I returned home, I began seeing patterns and symbols in everything around me, even in my dreams. I proceeded to translate these intriguing ideas into mandalas. In early 2000 I learned to use meditation as a way to access the depth of these mandalas, fully exploring their therapeutic and metaphysical natures.
