Painting Tutorial - step by step images

Hello!

This tutorial is a complete step by step images of the oil painting process from start to finish with multiple images in small intervals. You can learn all the secrets from simply just looking or even better, painting with the help of these images.

This painting is done in two layers on Ampersand Gesso board. The painting is left to dry after image 3.

From image 4, please pay close attention to the initial planar application of color and the order at which the colors are placed on the canvas. (starting with the black background then the whisky bottle) This is very important in order to get the full value range immediately, allowing us to judge the rest of the colors with accuracy.

I would suggest working wet into wet for the rest of the painting after image 3.

Most of the painting is done opaquely. However thin layers of paint was used in the front plane of the table top and the glass cup. The reason for this was to let the under-painting and its texture to show through.
