Use this theme as a backdrop for teaching through the book of Hosea. Hosea prophesied during a dark era of Israel’s history. Hosea was directed by God to marry a promiscuous woman of ill-repute in order to demonstrate God’s unfailing love for Israel. For Hosea, being consumed by God’s love meant doing some uncomfortable things. Sometimes love stinks. It calls us out of our comfort zone and into a life of loving the unlovable.
