7 Lessons Learned From the First 100 Episodes of The Entrepreneurial Musician

When you are lucky enough to stumble upon a project you enjoy passionately, time seems to fly by. This has absolutely been the case with me and The Entrepreneurial Musician Podcast.

The dichotomy is quite funny. Producing a weekly podcast can feel like quite a grind at times. There are weeks when everything works seamlessly from both a technology and scheduling standpoint. There are other weeks when releasing an episode feels like a herculean task. But in spite of the occasional grind, this podcast has been the most rewarding professional thing I’ve done in this most recent phase of my career.

I get to talk to some of the most brilliant, insightful and accomplished people in the music business on a regular basis. And I get to ask them whatever the hell I want! I never take for granted the fact that as the interviewer, if I think of a follow-up question, I get to just blurt it out. What a cool gig!

Not surprisingly, I have been continually amazed by the guests, each with their own unique path through life and the music business. They each bring something new to the audience (of which I consider myself a part of - I just happen to have a mic in my face!) Cumulatively, the wisdom they have shared has been nothing short of remarkable.

There have been a number of common lessons I have learned from these conversations and those are the ones featured in this latest volume from TEM Books. I could fill a dozen books with all of the lessons. The ones contained here are the really big ones that have overarching implications for any career in the music business.

For each of you who has supported TEM through the first 100 episodes (through listening, being a Patreon patron, sharing the podcast with a friend or leaving a review on iTunes), the success it has enjoyed is DIRECTLY BECAUSE OF YOU. It really has been the 1,000 True Fans concept in action and I am humbled beyond words by all of the support. Tens of thousands of downloads in 77 countries and all 50 states. Kind of hard to wrap my head around.

So THANK YOU to all of you for the support and especially for picking up this book.

Here’s to another 100 episodes!
