A class for people who want to expand their creative potential and dream up big things.

Here’s the secret: great ideas are all around us. We just need to pay attention, and take note of them so we can bring them to life. This class will show you how to do exactly that.

Great ideas are the lifeblood of every creative professional.

I’ve been making drawings my whole life, and I’ve made a full time living from it for over six years. And I need a constant supply of creative goodness to pay the bills.

I’ve developed a method of finding and generating (and stockpiling!) loads of great ideas that turn into drawings, paintings, illustrations for client projects, and licensing arrangements. In short, great ideas pay my bills. Ideas support my family of four. What could you do with an endless supply of great ideas?

What you'll learn:

  • The best places to find inspiration (hint: it's not Pinterest or Instagram)
  • How to bust through creative block
  • Wrestling with perfection
  • How to deal with the popularity contest of the internet
  • The idea collecting process I use to gather a steady supply of great ideas
  • Never get stuck staring at a blank page or canvas ever again.

(some of the topics and slides from the class)

I truly believe that everyone has the ability to be immensely creative.

Everyone has access to an unlimited supply of brilliance. The world around us is fertile with an abundance of great ideas, waiting to be brought to life by you. You just need to open your eyes, know where and how to look, and let your creative self play.

The class was originally presented live, but you can now watch the replay.

Lots of great questions were asked during the live class, and I answered a ton of them, making the whole class even better than I originally planned.

About the presenter

Marc Johns has been making drawings since he was tiny, and has been a full-time artist since 2011. He has created commissions for the New York Times Magazine, Vogue.com, National Geographic, Google, WIRED, Newsweek, Toyota, Tommy Hilfiger, and Harper Collins, and he's published several books.

He lives in Victoria, BC, on the west coast of Canada with his wife, two boys, and his drawer full of pens. He feels weird talking about himself in the third person.
