Summer Reading Academy with "The Student Teacher"
I am so excited that you decided to partner with The Student Teacher to take your child’s reading to another level through the Word of God. This is indeed an exciting time as the Lord has downloaded many creative ideas and ways to get children reading and using his words to do it. This is a commitment from both you as the parent and student. At the end of this course, I am prayerful that a hunger and desire for God will be ignited within your child. As you follow along and check homework, I pray the same happens for you. My ideal teaching experience is for parents, students, and teachers to work together and I am now able to fully implement that. The course outline is listed below so please read over it and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to working with you and your child.
What are the requirements for the student?
Meet once a week virtually and turn in homework once a week.
Homework is due Saturday by 10 pm
Live class every Thursday night @ 7 pm - 8: 30 pm.
Daily assignments include but not limited to reading affirmations out loud
Students will record themselves reading to hear how they sound, listen to it, make the corrections and re-record.
Each student will read to me during our initial in-take process so we can have a baseline for where they are. At the end of the course, we will record them reading again to measure growth. I will send all recordings to parents and students.
Check the platform at least twice a week for updates, your child’s progress, and submit any questions to The Student Teacher.
Pray your child’s reading ability and understanding daily.
Read the daily affirmations out loud with and over your child.
Who is this Reading Academy for?
Students between the ages of 8- 18.
Students who would like to build confidence and self-esteem for reading or continued success for reading on a higher level.
There are no labels or disabilities. You can share any information you like about past reading and educational experience but I will use that as prayer points and differentiation. No excuses and pity parties accepted.
