This super standard crosses over in Bluegrass and old-time circles. I moved it from the typical key of A to D simply for convenience so be sure to learn it in A as well. I view this tune as an absolute gold-mine for creating variations and improvisation. My goal is to demonstrate a wide variety of variations while still maintaining enough of the “skeleton” of the tune. Take it one idea at a time and pick and choose those ideas which work best for you. For those who have The Sandbridge Dance Tune Collection, I have revised the variations and added new ones. This tune is appropriate for any levels. The variations and arranging ideas arrange from very straightforward to more advanced.
