Retopology Basics: Low Res Game Characters

1 rating
This tutorial series covers the basics of retopologizing a character sculpt of an African wild dog using 3DCoat to create a low resolution game character for production. You will learn how to approach various forms and analyze which tools are most helpful to create low res geometry that retains a good character silhouette and deforms well when animated. See the brief timelapse teaser video above!

This series is from my previous fully mentored course with CGSociety, Rapid Character Development for Online Games. You can see the original CGSociety course promo video here https://vimeo.com/134446780

Although an older version of 3D Coat is used in this series, the retopology concepts and techniques shown here can be applied to the newer version of 3D Coat or any other retopology software for a variety of character types.

Series includes

- 8 videos with audio at real time speed totaling almost 4 hours of instruction

- 2 timelapse videos of the complete retopology process with no audio totaling about 42 minutes of demos

- 1920 X 1200 resolution

- MP4 video format and H264 video compression

- Decimated OBJ files of high resolution wild dog body and teeth

Hope it is helpful!
