Clio: Fanny Pack Sewing Pattern
Clio came about after much walking on the island of Anglesey. Frustrated at carrying a full size backpack around, when all I needed was something similar to what my friend Clio would use on a run or hike.
It needed to be big enough for my phone, suncream and water bottle, with a pocket for my earbuds and money too. And so, I set to work on a slightly sporty version of the classic bumbag.
The straps on Clio are adjustable. All three pockets have button and loop closures, so no need for any plastic or metal zippers. And the size of Clio is just right - big enough for your essentials, but not so big that you tire of carrying her.
I’ve enjoyed creating Clio, and hope you have many wonderful outings with yours!
Clio has been designed to work with woven fabrics.
This sporty version will work best made up in a heavier weight fabric, due to the potential water bottle weight.
Suggested fabrics would be:
• Denim
• Twill
• Canvas
You can also add interfacing to lighter fabrics for more structure and a fun look!
To make Clio, you’ll need:
• 0.35m of self fabric (at 140cm wide)
• Small amount of interfacing (not essential)
• 3 buttons
• 2 O-Rings / D-Rings or 1 Slider (match the strap width)
