Come By the Hills (Ireland/Scotland)

Come By the Hills (also known as Buachaill On Eirne, Ireland/Scotland) Various folks have put words to this traditional tune, claimed both by Irish and Scottish camps. This lovely piece provides an excellent lesson in developing a chord progression, arranging and an accompaniment. We exploit a rising bass line to create an introduction which can be used as an interlude and “outro” much like Gentle Eily. My hope is that you will work on the accompaniment, see the chord progression, and work on the arranging ideas and hopefully create your some of own! I was inspired to learn this tune from my friend Robin Bullock, one of the best finger style guitarists out there.
