💀 ZINE // DEATH COMIC 💀

The classic poem by Emily Dickenson illustrated in this 5-page comic.

This zine is an exercise in traditional comic methods. Drawn & inked on Bristol board paper. Words typed on a typewriter then pasted onto the page by hand. Computer was involved for scanning/clean-up & print production only.

Prior to drawing this comic I also spent time researching Emily Dickinson’s life, she was reported to be an adamant botanist and we have some records of what flowers she kept in her garden so I populated the comic pages with the flowers that she loved most, and that represent themes of the stanzas of her poetry.
