• Three presents that can be quickly opened, like gift bags.
• Other wrapped presents on the ground.
• Egg beater
• Pencil sharpener
• Other wrapped presents (4 or more)

TIME:
3-4 minutes

CHARACTERS:
Shanna—Girl opening presents on her birthday
Betina—A pessimistic friend who creates doubt
Charly – A cheerfully dimwitted friend who sees the positive side of things

PRODUCTION NOTE:
Three chairs in a circle should be enough of a setting.

THOUGHTS:
Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant. 1 Corinthians 12:1

We are ignorant when it comes to spiritual gifts.  We don’t know what they do or whether we qualify to receive them.  We believe we have to special order our spiritual gifts or just take whatever is given to us.

Spiritual gifts compliment abilities and interests we already have, and if we didn’t have an interest in that area before, we do, for some reason, have an interest in it now.

Spiritual gifts are supernatural extensions of God’s work in us and through us.  God needs us to spread his Gospel and to be the hands and feet of the Christian faith.  Now that Jesus left the earth, believers must fill in for him and represent God wherever we go.  With the Holy Spirit inside of us, we can do just that.

The Bible calls them gifts.  Gifts express kindness and love.  God gives us these abilities because he loves and trusts us with them.  We have to “open” them and try them out for size.  We can’t be thankful for a gift we’ve never opened.
