About the Author, Adele Barlow

Through working with Escape the City, a community of motivated corporate professionals who want to “do something different” with their careers, Adele Barlow found herself quasi- counselling top graduates from the world’s leading universities. These bright millennials had followed all the rules, taken “safe” and “sensible” jobs, then found themselves feeling lost.

After accidentally moonlighting as their makeshift therapist and regularly writing for The Huffington Post, Adele trained in cognitive behavioural coaching with the British Psychological Society and started the boutique publishing house Outbound Books, which produces transition psychology books for Generation Y.

In the final year of her undergraduate degree, she co-founded yMedia, an award-winning social enterprise that created digital campaigns for charities. Over the past decade she has also produced digital marketing content and events for various startups, corporations and agencies.
