Ink is an important theme for me. It is the primordial ooze from which all writers are born. We are tattooed by it, religiously, spiritually, romantically and solipsistically, across thousands of cultures. It fuelled the engines of my favourite authors. It has created documents that have changed history. It is the blood of the universe.

This issue contains Kerouacean sprawls of wild manuscript extracts, newly mentored writers with a penchant for the elaborate, film noir with a feminine twist, transethinic tanning salons in cyberpunk dystopias, and a man cutting out his own heart. Even the ink is alive in this volume. It breathes.
