Get my step-by-step guide to making a winning proposal: you'll get the EXACT template I use to close client deals, in MS Word format, ready to modify and print for your needs.

A strong proposal that you can re-use could be worth to you, starting with your very next project. Don't wait - keep your business strong and jump on this deal right away.

What's In It?

The proposal itself is an easy-to-modify MS Word doc, consisting of 5 sections:

  • Overview: Define the nature & goals of the project in terms that matter to the client; frame the engagement in a way that favors you. Use concrete numbers from your initial project interview.
  • Scope of Work: Enumerate what work will (and will not!) be considered part of the project; this is useful for preventing unpaid changes and additions. List your pricing options here.
  • Payment Structure: Set clear expectations regarding payment terms; reinforce the professional nature of your work. Ask for the money, confidently.
  • Authorization: Require clear commitment from the client; give yourself the confidence to proceed with an unambiguous, closed deal. You'll never have to risk start work with just a verbal authorization again.
  • Terms & Conditions: Basic legal conditions & clauses spelling out the ground rules of issues such as expenses, communications, ownership of work, promotional rights, project terminations and more.

How Do I Know This Is Legit?

I'm Chris. I’ve been building web sites since 1995 and web applications since 1999, successfully completing projects for business of every size – from Fortune 500s to non-profits to local mom-and-mop shops.

For the past 13 years, my workday is spent managing my custom web development consulting firm. Day in and day out, I'm out here in the world of freelancing - just like you - and figuring out solutions to the various issues that can arise in the operation of a freelancing or consulting business.

In addition to this proposal template, I've also authored a workbook that helps you deal with difficult client situations such as being slow-paid, micro-managed, or ignored by clients.
