A collection of poems from the soul for the soul by Dawn Richerson that includes poems written about my marriage, which began with high hopes in 1987 and ended abruptly seven years later in 1994. My former husband and I remain close friends, and this collection of remembrances is dedicated to him with acceptance for what was, gratitude for what is, and trust for what will be in each of our lives.

This poetry collection was originally published by Autumn Zephyr Press, a Creative Revolutions imprint publishing passion-powered poetry, in 1996. ISBN 0-9715073-2-5 Download cover and manuscript from this page or order the paperback here.

SAMPLE POEM

From the Outside Looking In

From the outside looking in, it is as if
the two of us reach expeditiously but never
converge long enough to grasp hold
of love. Elusive, we dance as shadows

     that will not be contained.

Love slips unnoticed as we cling to its glory
for inestimable moments, then succumb with
impassioned abandon. We forget hues of you
and me, blend to white light, pierce core

     of innermost desire dark.

From the inside looking out, we run away,
toward all things but each other. Reckless
disregard runs rampant. Apparition bids me
flee faster, surge forth, leave love's

cruel loss behind us once for all.

From the outside looking in, from the inside looking out...
Maybe we will never know which
way it really is. We remain shards of kaleidoscope glass.
Ordinary light illuminates love's truth, exquisite beauty
exposes darkness, reflects

     sacred possibility of us.
