How to Use Citric Acid and Acetic Acid in Soap Making mini eCourse

This is more advanced, and not for beginner soap makers. You must have a basic knowledge of soap making before using this information. If you are new to soap making please start with lye safety and beginner cold process soap making... I have videos on YouTube, search for Tina Moenck.

I'm selling this separately for those that want to know how to use citric acid correctly in soap making, but don't need the whole Master Class. I also go over how to use the acetic acid in vinegar correctly as well. 

This includes a 20 page ebook that goes over every thing you need to know about citric acid for soap making. I included the stoichiometry used to calculate how much citric acid is consumed by the lye. I also included a picture tutorial on how to make sodium citrate at home if you don't want to do the calculations. I also go over calculating how much extra lye needed if you use vinegar which contains acetic acid.

Anytime you add an acid to a base you get a salt, and some lye is consumed. If you don't correctly calculate how much extra lye is needed your superfat will be increased. Too much citric acid and your soap can fall out of solution.

There is also a 10 minute video of the making of the citric acid tests I did, so you can see exactly what I did.

I also did voice overs of the ebook and broke it up into 3 videos for easy downloading. This is if you want to download and listen or read along. Whatever works best for you.

Why do you want to add citric acid or sodium citrate to your soaps?? Citric acid converts to sodium citrate when combined with lye, and it's a hardner, it's a chelating agent which reduces soap scum in hard water, and therefore boosts lather!
