Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen, Canada)

Everyone seems to doing an arrangement of this piece so by popular demand I joined the crowd. However, my view is that the melody is NOT what makes this piece work. In fact, the song even tells us the chord progression: the fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift, and references the secret chord! Thus, I admittedly more or less only hint at the melody in this one and focus instead on bringing out the chord progression via arpeggios and melodic runs. My hope is that you will learn this recognizing that it is a fabulous vehicle for working on arpeggios and thinking chords! My focus in teaching this tune is on those darn arpeggios and using patterns!!
