Sargent paintings

This is collection of over 200 photos of J. S. Sargent paintings I took at New York at Metropolitan Museum of Art. I was lucky to be at the time when the museum held his exibition "Sargent: Portraits of Artists and Friends". There are a lot of close ups, so you can analize brushstrokes.

Some of the photos are blurred, unfortunately I didn’t see it till I got home.

You should remember that there may be distortion from the lens on some photos. There were tons of people and I had to push through them and use 18mm (almost fish eye). Also some of the paintings were super big and I would have had to stand on a platform to hit it from the right angle.

My camera as I think all the cameras increases contrast, so when you look at dark spots on the painting remember that there weren’t that dark (considering that your monitor is set up properly). I tried to take photos that would look as close to original as possible.

Other than you will be able to see brush strokes on close-up photos and maybe some paintings you haven’t seen.
