File & Catalogue Management in Lightroom & Backup Management Strategies

£3.99

Many photographers struggle to get their image files organised. Many started using Adobe Lightroom without really understanding how its catalogue and file management worked and now find themselves in a bit of a mess or wishing to reorganise their file system and catalogue.

It is also true that many photographers (and computer users in general) struggle to get a simple and robust back up system working to protect themselves from hard drive failure. EVERY hard drive will fail one day - its just a case of when. So to protect our precious images we need a system which is easy to use and gives each of us a level of back up protection to meet our needs.

In this video, of a webinar previously broadcast live through my website, which lasts 1 hour 50 minutes, I cover in detail how to organise your file system using Adobe Lightroom's easy but powerful tools from importing your images to managing the files once on your hard drives.

You will learn how the catalogue works, and how to have images on several hard drives if you need to, how to move and delete images safely and so on. I also show how to build a back up system that works for you, including adding a Cloud back up to supplement local backups to external drives, networks or RAID dives. I base the discussions on Lightroom 5. (These tools are all in the latest versions of Lightroom too - Lightroom 6/2015/CC) Where there are differences to earlier versions these are pointed out and differences that affect Mac and Windows users are also highlighted.

My goal is to give you a simple, clear, step by step process for working with your image files, explaining clearly why I do what I do with mine you understand the reasons behind the way I work.
