A long-term goal that I have for every student is to be able to play an arrangement and a backup for all tunes.
Even better is to be able to see the relationship between the chord progression, the arrangement and the backup. I discuss in detail how to create a successful and interesting chord progression and that no chord choice can be viewed in isolation but must be seen as part of a story. The backup is at least as much fun to play as the arrangement. This is a challenging arrangement.
