Radhika Hira and Malti Bhojwani learnt yoga together with anatomy and physiology from Dr. Venky Reddy who has over 18 years of teaching instructors Yoga all over the world. The word “Yoga” comes from the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit. It means “union.” The practice of yoga therefore refers to the union of the mind, body and soul.

 Although a very “hands-on” practice, we have attempted to share the basics of yoga with you for stress release in these series of lessons, so that you can experience the benefits in the comfort of your home or office. The 10 lessons include a warm up with a surya namasakar, stretches to alleviate tension around your shoulders and neck, asanas to help with suppleness of your spinal column to prevent backaches and we wrap up with relaxing shavasan, pranayama and meditation lessons. The lessons are meant to teach you how to make Yoga a part of your daily practice so you can live in holistic health, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically. Watch them a few times and soon you will be able to perform these simple practices independently without the videos.
