Lay Down Your Arms (Israel)

A stunning chord progression along with some simple arranging ideas can do wonders to create a successful presentation of a tune. I explain my choices to arrange this hauntingly beautiful piece in Aeolian (Em) which moves to the parallel major (E) in the B part before concluding in Em. I use a variety of ideas including a chromatic descending bass line, circle of fifths chord movement, two and three note chords, arpeggio fills, valley rolls, dissonance and melodic and chromatic runs. The melody is relatively easy but the arrangement will make you work. You are going to love this tune!
