Tape Presets for U-he Satin

Tape Presets for U-he Satin.

LL Old Tape HX-Pro NR preset for U-he Satin simulates the Dolby HX Pro noise reduction that I used to love on cassettes. I had a recorder to record in HX Pro and it made any cassette recording sound so clear and present that it was incredible. This preset gives me some extremely deep bass and drum as well as some high-end brightness and clarity. I am very satisfied with the result of simulating the HX Pro noise reduction. Also included is a preset named  LL Modern Tape HX-Pro NR that simulates newer tape. Put these on the master.

LL VHS Tape preset for U-he Satin simulates the sound as if it were recorded onto VHS tape and played back. Boards of Canada and other musicians have recorded to tape that sounds like VHS. While Satin cannot go slow enough (1.313 i.p.s. for standard play VHS), it gives a satisfactory sound at the lowest setting of Satin. Put it on the synth bus.

LL Cassette preset for U-he Satin simulates the sound as if it were recorded onto a standard cassette and played back. Many bands used tape recorders to record their sounds and this cassette sound at 1 and 7/8 i.p.s. (1.875 i.p.s.) gives a fair reproduction of that classic sound. Put it on the synth bus.

LL Air preset for U-he Satin is an old trick that many studios did to give air (higher frequency response) to recordings. It means recording it at a high speed and the repro head at a slower one. In this case 15 i.p.s. for the recording head and 7.5 i.p.s. for the playback. Put it on the synth bus to air them out.

There are a few other ones I've included but without descriptions. They're yours to experiment with.

You must own U-he Satin for these to work.

Special Note for ProTools users: These are in .h2p format and probably will not work with ProTools. Please check if your Satin on ProTools will use .h2p files or not.
