Carving a Rice Sheaf
This lesson shows how to carve a rice sheaf design in butternut wood. I show how to lower down the background to a flat surface and how to carve the details of the rice sheaf design. This carving is unique in that I do not make a lot of vertical cuts defining the final outline of the design, but use a v-chisel instead.
In this highly detailed and practical lesson from a classical woodcarver, you see every step so you can develop your own carving abilities. It's one of those lessons you'll want to watch again and again.
