Toccata for solo violin

“Toccata” for solo violin was composed in only three days at the end of November and beginning of December 2020. Earlier in November I took a trip to Brazil with violinist Alexandr Kislitsyn to participate in the 7th edition of the Encontro Internacional de Cordas in Limeira. His playing, friendship, and zest for life inspired me to write this piece. The beginning motif is drawn from a riff used by Gypsy bass players in Romania.
