Lessons in the Art of Illuminating - W. J. Loftie - 1880

This ultra rare four part series on illuminated lettering and manuscript art is complete and in beautiful condition. It's undated, but appears to be from the 1880's due to the printing methods employed and the style of the artwork. Beautiful full color chromolithography plates are plentiful in here and there is excellent insight into the prices of creating these kinds of designs and their history.
