Chicago Breakdown is a rip-roaring action adventure science fiction story, a homage to vintage SF of the 1930's 40's 50's when the genre had plenty of action in the heroic mode, it also has dashes of humour from the central character who I based on Kurt Russell's portrayal in Big trouble in little China. I grew up surrounded by American Comic books in which a central character (hero) who battled the forces of evil, in this case Adolf Hitler. The denouement of the story ties together two mysteries of the 20th Century the Tunguska blast of 1908 in Siberia and the alleged crash of a flying saucer at Roswell New Mexico in 1947. Time travel is central to the story as well as Alien intervention in world history although well intentioned this causes plenty of scope for action for our hero to deal with.
