If you’re serious about security, then you should also be interested in online privacy.

Even though nowadays, online privacy might seem to be a myth, there are still ways you can protect your data when you use the Internet.

If you are here, I assume that you already know some things about cybersecurity.

I also believe that you are familiar with the Cambridge Analytica scandal, and the data breaches of Yahoo, from 2013, Uber, from 2016, Twitter, from 2018 or Marriott, from 2020.

I’m sure you’ve also heard the last one. On 14th of December, 2020, Google experienced an authentication system outage for approximately one hour.
More than one billion global users could have their data compromised.

On the other hand, when it comes to privacy, nowadays’ tech giants are increasingly invading the privacy of their users.

Google allows third-party apps to read your emails.

Facebook and Instagram will track your web activity even after you left their platforms.

Uber now tracks you during and after you ride with Uber.

Microsoft says it collects data to help you track your productivity, but what it does instead is that it forces you to be even more dependent on their ecosystem.

Speaking about ecosystems, do I need to remind you about Apple?

When it comes to Zoom, your video conferences aren’t as private as you might expect. Beside significant security vulnerability, Zoom publicly admitted that it collects data about you such as your name, physical address, email address, phone number, the device you are using and even your IP address.

It is said that in the search for privacy you cannot find the same level of security, and in the search for security you cannot find the same level of privacy, with a few exceptions.

With everything that happens in the world, these days, it is your responsibility to do whatever you can to protect you and your online data as well as possible.

Protecting your data 100%, unfortunately, is not possible. But you can go so far as to make life hard for most of those who try to invade your privacy online.

With a proper involvement, and especially with a good enough reason, your online privacy citadel can become strong AF.

To help you in this regard, I created this eBook.
