RGG1000 RGG to the FAA's Exemption of Aerial MOB LLC

This Rather Good Guide® to the Exemption document ponders what it would mean if the requirements of the FAA’s exemption were to apply to all commercial sUAS operations in the USA.

There are some interesting requirements in the exemption, like pilots having to have pilots licenses, a current class III medical, and pass a biennial flight review for the aircraft for which they hold the license (not the sUAS).

But there are some serious requirements that I doubt even the petitioners can comply with, such as the sUAS has to be able to abort a flight if it encounters unexpected obstacles. Not quite sure how it will do that.

Also, it has to return to home if there’s a loss of transmitter signal or if it loses the GPS signal. Errr…..how can it return to home if it loses the GPS signal?

Wait until you see the maintenance and paperwork requirements.

And, if there is an airspace violation, incident or accident on location, all flight operations stop until after the FAA's UAS Integration office has reviewed the report and re-authorized flight operations.

Anyway, download and enjoy. This report is intended to be free -- so just enter 0 in the amount field and you will not have to enter credit card fields. Several folks didn't realize it is free and have donated, and, while it's much appreciated, it is not necessary.

Andy.

But – and it’s an important but – if you don’t feel you can comply (or choose not to comply), with these license terms, please do not click on the “I want this!” button and download a copy.
