Video Tutorial - Mat Cutting Basics - Tools
This is the first video in a series I'm planning on the basics of cutting mats for your artwork. This video covers the basic tools of the trade and also what you'll need to set up a working area.
Disclaimer: I am no expert and I don't work in a frame shop! I dislike math. These lessons come from someone who has found a way to compromise with the art of cutting mats which is probably far from textbook perfect.

- 2 folding tables
- scrap box (leftover copy paper box)
- trash can
- foam floor mat
- Logan compact mat cutter
- slip mat for bevel cutting (spare piece of long matboard)
- straight and bevel cutter heads for mat cutter
- self-healing mat
- scrap paper for notes
- band-aid for blister prevention
- soft eraser and kneaded eraser
- white chalk pencil
- pencil
- heavy duty X-acto knife
- nail file or fine grain sand paper (for smoothing ragged cuts)
- extra replacement blades for mat cutter
- 24" clear ruler
- T square
- heavy duty scissors
