ONLINE CLASS: Intro to 2D Character Animation (Thursdays 7:30pm-10:30pm)

This class teaches classical animation skills that are focused for 2D character animation. Assignments include basic character movement, animating expressions, introduction to performance and acting within animation, and finally; invoking life to your characters.

This course includes lectures, live demonstrations and assignment draw overs as part of the learning experience.

How it Works:

Once the student has made an official payment, they will be added to the emailing listing, group chat, blog, and the actual online class room where there is live interaction between the mentor and students. The online platform we will be using is Adobe Connect for our class.

Recommended Skills:

Students will need to be able to have basic draftsmanship skills such as loose gesture drawing, form, sequential drawing, basic perspective and figure invention due to the fast paced nature of the class.

Schedule: Tuesdays (7:30pm - 10:30 pm) PACIFIC US TIME

By the end of this class, students will be able to:

- Understand and Utilize the 12 principles of animation - and apply it to actual characters.

- Draw Short hands and gestures

- construct appealing and solid drawings

- Have fleshed out/thought out acting choices

- Be able to animate basic character movements

- Understand the basics of the Exposure Sheet, Time Charts, and actually use them

- Introduction to Dialogue

- Be comfortable in approaching classical animation

- Have some work to be showcased in a Demo Reel
