Combination poetry and comics exploration of the legend of Chang'e. The black and white zine was originally printed in May 2018 from my HP Laserjet. The print run lasted from 2018-2020. This PDF was re-released for Gumroad in April 2020.

Original description is as follows:

"What does it mean to feel like you don’t belong?

Chang'e is the goddess of the moon and one of the most iconic figures from Chinese legend. It is said that her husband, the archer Yi, was rewarded with the elixir of immortality for saving the earth from being burned by ten suns. Chang’e—either willfully, accidentally, or by force (retellings vary)—then drank the elixir herself. This made her weightless and, by consequence, she floated up to the moon and crossed beyond the mortal realm.

I imagine she would know, of all people, how it feels when there's a little part inside of you you don't quite understand, like a foreign object floating in space or water. This is my re-interpretation of the classic Chinese legend.

(Black and white 24-page PDF, 20 pages of content with poems and comics mixed in)."
